My mother-in-law passed away almost 3 months ago, and the grief has made it very hard to create. This is the first painting I’ve started and finished since it all happened, and it’s definitely a shift in process and style. It was so therapeutic and felt very intuitive to create, I’ll be incorporating elements from this in my paintings moving forward. I’m so happy with this piece, I hope you love it as well!

This painting was a gift for my Grammy’s 90th birthday! 90! And she’s going strong! Her partner, Peter, is a retired botanist, and he’s one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. It’s such an honor to be able to give gifts like this to the people I love.
